Single, Successful, & Hopeful Single

Highlighting Single Mothers, Successful Professionals

Hello, I am Danuelle Roberts and today, I will be introducing a wonderful woman who is beautiful, Successful, and a Professional.  I am interviewing her just to expose a little truth about how to balance work, being a mom and personal time. Yes, I know we live in a society that really love placing labels on so many groups of people especially, Single Mothers.

Sometimes Single Mothers get a bad reputation.
You see the jokes on movies and even in society, jokes and questions like how many kids she have, how many baby daddy's she have, not knowing her story just judging based on what you see. Not knowing some of us are just a product from failed relationships, divorce and being a widow. So it really doesn't matter how you became a single mother. Especially men who are a little bit worried with dating/courting a single mother. I think that men should focus on hearing from God and focus on her character, integrity and how well she take care of her kid/kids

I am a single mother and life as a single mother can be challenging because everything becomes a balancing act!

If you are a single mom, I would love your feed back. Tell me how do you balance your life as a single mom. What are some life lessons you have learned on this Journey of motherhood, being mom, and working mom. Let me know, your feed back is needed!

Introducing Brittany Shanice Blanton,  a working professional mother, woman of God and the drive to make sure she provide a wonderful life for her beautiful little daughter. This mother understands what it's like to be raised in a single parent home. So being raised by a strong woman made her stronger and a better mother!

DanuelleHow do you feel about being a single mother?

Brittany: "I feel tired lol umm I love my child dearly and would give my life for her. It gets hard, and being a product of a single mom, I feel like I'm following a pattern. But it has made me a stronger person and woman."

Danuelle: "Okay so now, I got to know about what makes you a strong mother and how you feel about being a single mom. I want to ask you about dating and working and how do you balance all of it?"

Brittany: "I balance work and being a mom the best I can. I lose a lot of sleep. But Jaeda needs a home and food, so I work hard and I work even harder being mommy!
I am actually terrified to date. I don't want to expose Jaeda to just anyone and I don't have time to share with anyone who isn't Jaeda or family ... I feel guilty having "me" time if it doesn't involve my kid. And I feel that any spare time I have, it should be with my kid to make up for time that I'm working.

Danuelle : What are some qualities in a man that you look for in a potential mate, if that person do come along in your life and why?
Brittany: So I don't really have time to date right now ... If I do, the man needs to understand that my daughter will come first.

Brittany: "Qualities that I look for... God fearing. I need a Godly man because as a Christian woman, I need a man that will lead the home as God planned. I also want someone who is smart, caring, selfless, and honest. I would like a man who works just as hard as I do, and wants to build an empire with me. I need a man who has patience, and who is willing to wait to meet my daughter when the time is right. Someone who is funny and can hold a conversation. I look for these things in a man because I feel that with my personality, we would fit each other perfectly. I'm so high strong and I'm a planner, I need someone who can relax me."

Danuelle: I love your answers! I feel that single women no matter if they have kids or not, you need to know what you are looking for up front. Even if you are waiting and not actively dating/courting it's so good to know what you want out of a potential mate.

Danuelle: What are somethings that you do to keep your Joy, and self worth, when we live in a society that is focused on just looks?

Brittany: Self worth... after having my daughter and gaining so much weight, going through a break up... I felt so low and had no self esteem. I started to pray more, and I realized how great of a person I was... and if I wanted anything to change, I needed to get up and start making changes. I started to work out harder, and loving myself more. I want to be a good example for my daughter. I've learned that my joy comes from God, and no one can take that from me unless I allow them to.

Danuelle: It was a pleasure interviewing such a wonderful beautiful woman inside and out! When you keep God first God will give you the joy and patience to be the best YOU in this life!

Lets Talk about my new book!!!
I am so excited about my novel, I can't wait for you all to get your hands on your very own copy of the book!

What to expect from this fiction romance novel?  Expect the characters to deal with real life issues, London she is one of the main characters in the book. She loves the idea of "Love" but have no real idea what love is.  London, have been in relationships, but they never worked out. She becomes frantic and fearful, of the idea of being single in her thirties. London is determined to find love no matter what!

What inspired you to write a Christian love story? Great question, I wrote this story back in 2008, and  I was working at a daycare and during the time the children would sleep for nap, after making sure my work was done and children were asleep. I started typing away, because the story chose me.
I really saw the character's in my head London, Brandon, etc. so the hard part was putting all the pieces together and bringing the story to life. But I went through a tragic moment and I stopped writing the book. But in 2014 the story was coming back to me and the character's began to jump out at me and I decided to start back writing the story and then published the book in 2015! It is still in the process and will be released soon!

I knew that this story was special to me, because so many women, like London including myself. We really wanted that special someone, but somehow those relationships never worked out. I will expose the lessons that I had to learn. I will tell you God taught me a lesson, in my life. I had to learn to trust in God when he said  NO! I had to learn that singleness is not a prison sentence. It gave me a chance to know my purpose and love myself more than ever! I can say, once I learned that Jesus was with me and that I trust God no matter what!

London had to learn the same thing!
But London she will be introduce to a love that will never leave her lonely, a love that will heal her pains and hurts. Now that is the kind of God, we serve! God will do that, for all women who is face with not knowing how to really trust God in her singleness.

What advice do you have for single men/women?
My advice is to enjoy your life while you wait for that special person! Make sure you know your self and your purpose during a season of singleness.
I really feel that you need to fall in love with God  and trust him...make sure your relationship with Jesus is strong. Prepare your self for marriage before you say, I do or before you meet the person. You need to know what God's word say about marriage, and read books that can pour into you and prepare you for that future someone!
I hope this blessed you!

Love, Christians & Relationships- wow, when you are a single christian and everyone has so many ideas and a opinion on how to walk in a christian relationship, it can  make you feel hopeless in the process. I have read so many articles that talk about the do's and the don'ts, but I have not heard anyone mention that you need to be in love with God first!

Let me explain, in order for me to expose what my heart is trying to say, I must take you down just a brief journey down the road of my experience in Christian's & relationship's. Yes, I am single happy and saved, but  I had not always been so happy about being single. I had my share of bad break up's and lonely dark nights.

It was  2012 when I realized that my current relationship back then, was over and all of the wedding planning went out the window! I sat in my closet crying my brown eye's out to only hear the Lord whisper in my ear, that it was not the end of the world just the end of my relationship. I gathered
myself up and talk with my auntie, over the phone, she was more like my mentor and I poured out my hurt feelings to her.

Okay, are you feeling sorry for me? Well, don't feel sorry for me at all, keep reading, my auntie began to remind me of God's promise and she told me that next time to never compromise for anyone. Yes, I had been in a relationship where I had lost myself, I had compromised in everything. But God finally, healed my heart and began to show me how I lost myself.
1.) I was always available for this one guy all the time
2.) I had put God second, by  not given God my time in the word,
3.)I had also allowed my relationship to be more sinful and less holy.

I keep going over and over in my head asking myself, how and why did I allow that to happen. I was the girl who had vowed to remain celibate, but this relationship had took a turn for the worst! I mean we were getting married, and I stop guarding my heart and everything else!

But thank God, I  ended that relationship and God was teaching me how to love MY "self" it was then and only then I began to seek more of God and the things of God! I soon became in love with my father, like... I was not just saying I love you, but I was really in love with God (smiling)!
I  did not have to wrestle with any feelings of loneliness anymore it was gone!

I was now praying to God to teach me how to be the best single that I could be, teach me how to wait on the opportunity of a loving relationship! God began to lead me to the word of God like Genesis to Ruth, etc. I  was learning that being the best version of me was a "priority" !

"Why" should we seek God instead of jumping right into another relationship so soon after a break up? Okay, glad you ask, you need time to heal and allow God to pour into you his love so you would have that substance, and understanding of who you are!  God  would want you to discover your purpose during this time and once you got it, start walking in it!

I had found "myself" in my season of growing deep in God and really given God my whole heart! I wrote a book that was filled with my testimony and my poetry! I did some more awesome things like
went back to college, I know I did not mention this information in the beginning but I am a mother of three, so going back to college full time was like a really big goal for me!

I also  wanted to write a christian novel, and I did! I am in the process right now publishing that novel, God had to show me that I was more than just single and waiting for a mate I was SOMEBODY special!
God also taught me how to set boundaries for future prospects. I want to say...when you know your self and you are for sure in love with God and someone comes along, just remain being yourself, don't change for anyone! Let the holy spirit guide you in making your choice on who you will allow in your life even as a friend.  I think the best place to start out before courtship or dating, is "friendship"  respect and honesty will go along way!
Hope my story and my tips are helpful!
Please feel welcome to comment or share with me your story.

God is still here

Hello,  welcome to my blog
My name is Danuelle,  for those of you who are new to my page.
I want to start by saying, I hope you all enjoyed Thanksgiving  and family& friends! I really enjoyed every moment that I had with my family.

Today I wanted to talk about how to deal with the moments of life that  are dark and cold.
I know some people are having a hard time during this season of holidays because they have lost a love one. It does not matter how you lost that love one, it could have been a death or a divorce etc. But, a death or a divorce/break up can cause change and pain.
My heart goes out to those who had to go through losing a love one , especially  around this time  of the year. I know the feeling of losing someone you love, because I lost my baby boy he died before birth in the year of 2009, and it was during this time of the year.

It was so hard for me, but through prayer, and taking my mind of my self and I started thinking on ways, to turn this sad moment in my life around to help others, and I did by sharing my story on how God healed me from grief that would not leave and how I prayed to God to heal my heart! God did just that!

I had to rediscover my self during that season of pain, I also threw myself in the word of God and started to learn so much about the love of God. I wrote my first poetry book, I had became busy for God. I  refused to give up on life, because my emotions were all over the place. So I knew that, I needed to remain stable in my mind, I needed to be grounded in the word of God!

Time, and the word of God healed me!!! But I will always have a tender spot for my baby boy, but I know that he is in heaven!
My gifts like my poetry really helped me share what I was feeling inside during that time, and God shaped my life during the darkest time of my life! God allowed others to read my poetry or hear my story on how God healed me from the lost of my baby and they to were changed!

Hope you will enjoy one of my poems that I wrote during a time were I could not feel God. But God whispered and said...
I AM HERE!
I am here, I am in the trees, I am in the air!
I am in the stars, I am everywhere!
I am here. I am in the whisper of a breeze and in the beginning of every worship love song!
I am here.
I am in the warmth of the sun, the cool of the bay.
The bend in your knees and the passion in how you pray!
I am here! I am in the words of many, in the hands who feed plenty!
I am here. Love is the grace of every cry the many colors of a rainbow in the sky, I am here!
